Practice grateful thinking...

I work in retail and, at times, encounter some pretty unhappy people. Yet, while I was eating lunch during my break one day, a coworker sat down next to me and said she asks herself the following question daily: “What three things am I grateful for?”
Apparently, studies have shown grateful thinking can positively affect your mood. My friend showed me her list, which she had written on a post-it note:
1. My CD is coming out soon.
2. I have enough money to make my own CD.
3. I had fun cleaning the bathrooms this morning.
What surprised me was the items on her list were fairly simple. I realized my coworker is one of those people who never seems to be in a bad mood. If she says something negative, she immediately counters with something positive.
It only takes five minutes, she said. Not bad for a pick-me-up!
