Current Trends
Less time reading ....

According to an article published in The Washington Post not that long ago, if you live in the United States, you’re probably spending less time reading. A study done by the National Endowment for the Arts (and based on multiple government and nongovernmental agencies) showed the trend to be particularly strong among older teens and young adults. We know it’s true at our house. Is it the internet or cell phones? Although nine-year-olds still read for fun, the same cannot be said of 15 to 24-year-olds, who spend only seven to 10 minutes a day reading anything at all of their own free will. This includes reading online! We’re looking for the trend to be reversed soon….
